Work report signals more of the same on monetary policy

There will be no step change in China’s monetary policy this year. In its annual work report, the government said it would target a 2% rise in the consumer price index (CPI) – the same as in 2025 – and that:
“Promoting...an appropriate rebound in prices [is a] key consideration underpinning our mon...
