China’s deflationary dynamics continue to bottom out. Per data released by the stats bureau (NBS) on February 11, consumer prices (CPI) grew 0.2% y/y in January, down sharply from 0.8% the previous month. That may look bad – but the softening in CPI inflation was driven by seasonal effects.
