Tencent blames chip supply for lower AI spending

What happened: Tencent’s Q3 capex – a proxy for AI infrastructure investment – fell hard.

The figure came in at RMB 12.98 billion, down 24% y/y and 32% q/q.
The company also said it won’t hit its earlier capex target – which was guided at “low teens” as a percentage of revenue.
